Introduction
With nearly 1,000 member companies in New York and London,
and business networks covering 70 other European and
American cities, we occupy a strategic position in the
business relationship between the US and the UK and
Continental Europe.
Our members include many of the world’s largest
multinationals, as well as hundreds of middle-market
and smaller companies, and account for the lion’s
share of transatlantic business.
We leverage the strengths of our corporate networks
and strategic position to provide our member companies
with a broad range of targeted services to help them
to build and manage their business.
BABi is a not-for-profit membership organisation, and
incorporates the American Chamber of Commerce (UK) and
the British - American Chamber of Commerce (New York/London),
which merged in 2000 to create a stronger transatlantic
business organisation.

Transatlantic Business Awards
Each year, at a gala dinner in New York, BABi honours
the chief executives of two major multinationals and
two entrepreneurial companies for their contribution
to transatlantic business. Since its launch in 1995,
this dinner has become recognised as the premier event
in the transatlantic business calendar.
Channing Corporate Citizenship Awards
The BABi Channing Corporate Citizenship Award is presented
on an annual basis, at a major dinner in London, to
an organisation that has demonstrated outstanding leadership
in the field of good corporate citizenship.
Annual Christmas Lunch
On both sides of the Atlantic, BABi’s Christmas
Luncheons have been one of our largest and most popular
events for more than 40 years, attracting an audience
of more than 1,500 executives.
Trade Information Services
BABi provides a trade information service for its members
on both side of the Atlantic (and for non-members, for
a fee) to assist them in identifying sales leads, business
partners and professional advisers in North America
and the UK. This service provides access to special
databases, including: Dun and Bradstreet’s “Who
Owns Whom”, “Million Dollar Directory”
and “Key British Enterprises”. Enquiries
are also referred directly to BABi’s member companies,
thereby promoting them to buyers, distributors, wholesalers
and other relevant businesses.
BABi Publications
BABi publications are geared to the interests of the
transatlantic business community and serve as a vehicle
for promoting our members and providing information
on a wide array of topics, ranging from business issues
and transatlantic trade policy to BABi events and services.
They include:
• BritishAmerican Business Handbook –
an annual publication, designed to be a practical guide,
aimed at US companies looking for opportunities to do
business in the UK
• Network New York London – the
quarterly publication for BABi’s membership
• The BABi Membership Directory –
published annually and listing all members in New York
and London, it is available exclusively to BABi members
• UK at a Glance – a briefing on
the UK economy, published twice a year
Cross Atlantic Relocation Services
(CARS)
BABi’s new CARS workshops allow member organisations
to maximise investment in the relocation of employees
by ensuring expatriates and their families are fully
adjusted to the differences and challenges of working
and living in either the US or the UK. BABi offers three
different workshops on Cross Cultural Training to assist
you or your employees in transatlantic relocation.
