ACS International Schools (formerly known as the American Community Schools, England) enrols a total of 2,400 students aged between 21/2 and 18, from over 70 countries, speaking 40 languages, at three London area campuses in England. Based on international and American research, principles, and educational practices, the schools are committed to maintaining the highest standards of scholarship and citizenship.
Our accademic programme
All ACS campuses are International Baccalaureate (IB) World Schools, offering the IB Diploma. In addition, ACS Egham International School is one of only three schools in the UK to also offer the IB Primary Years Programme (ages 3-11), and the IB Middle Years Programme (11-16). All ACS campuses offer an American High School Diploma, with ACS Cobham International School and ACS Hillingdon International School also teaching prestigious Advanced Placement (AP) courses.
ACS graduates attend leading universities around the world including: Cambridge, Imperial College London, London School of Economics, and Oxford in the UK; Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, and Yale in the US; and McGill, Stockholm School of Economics, University of Oslo, Delft University of Technology, University of Tokyo, and Keio from the rest of the world. We are accredited by the New England Association for Schools and Colleges, and are authorised by the International Baccalaureate Organization.
Extracurricular activities
ACS encourages every student to engage in a rich and diverse student life. Our extensive athletic programme fields Varsity, Junior Varsity and Middle School teams in 11 sports. Supporting these teams are highly-motivated coaches and state-of-the-art facilities, including 17 sports fields, three modern gymnasiums, 15 tennis courts, an Olympic-sized running track, six-hole golf course, and a newly-constructed Sports Centre with a basketball/ volleyball show court and 25-metre swimming pool.
In addition, our extensive and varied extracurricular clubs and community service activities stimulate, as well as inspire, significant student participation in international theatre art programmes, math, literature and music competitions, as well as outreach projects both locally and around the world.
Boarding
The ACS Cobham International School campus offers an exceptional, coeducational, boarding experience for 110 students aged between 12 and 18. All student rooms are ergonomically designed for two, and include en-suite facilities and internet connections. The Dormitory has six resident House Parents, and ten live-in teacher supervisors.
State-of-the-art facilities in stately surroundings
Our schools set the benchmark standard for quality educational facilities and grounds. Each campus is built around a spacious country estate, enhanced by modern, purpose-built classrooms, libraries, science labs, IT rooms, art studios, cafeterias, and sports facilities.
The organization’s robust programme of development and renewal has invested over £50m into campus facilities over the past ten years. In the 2005-06 academic year, major projects completed included upgrading and increasing the number of computers, printers, whiteboards and projectors at all three schools, the complete restoration of the historic mansion house at ACS Cobham, the construction of a new sports field at ACS Egham, and the installation of an enhanced CCTV system to further improve campus security at ACS Hillingdon.
Transition and housing support for incoming families
Our expert Admissions teams are knowledgeable in both academic and relocation issues, and our well-established parent communities provide additional support and transition assistance to incoming families.
On-site Housing officers assist families and relocation agents in finding the ideal home within each school’s extensive bussing zone, where housing is up to 50% less expensive than central London locations.
