Making the world
a smaller place

With its overnight airborne express delivery business, FedEx Express links the globe

The FedEx Express fleet

FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp, connects areas that generate 90% of the world’s gross domestic product in one-tothree business days with door-to-door, customs-cleared service and a money-back guarantee. Providing fast, reliable and timedefinite transportation of approximately 3.2 million packages to more than 220 countries and territories each working day, FedEx offers global transportation, logistics, e-commerce and supply chain management solutions. FedEx simplifies and speeds the shipping process by providing on-line ordering and processing facilities, free packaging, straightforward shipping documentation and bespoke e-business facilities.

Linking UK business with the US

Since FedEx Express invented the overnight, airborne express delivery business, we’ve become the natural choice for firms seeing fast, global connectivity as a way to expand their businesses. The global economy and rise of the multinational corporation means that today’s businesses rely on being able to send and receive shipments all over the world. The opening up and rapid growth of markets such as China and India are further fuelling growth in international courier services. According to McKinsey, 20% of manufactured items are sold across borders, but, by 2020, some 80% of all production will be distributed globally. E-commerce, in particular, is changing the way the world does business. Nowhere is this more obvious than in our delivery options for businesses looking to ship between the UK and the US.

Using our air route authorities and infrastructure, FedEx Express delivers to more than 16,000 zip codes in the US by 10.30am the next day. More than ever, UK businesses with international horizons need a reliable, efficient and fast logistics leader to be their partner in success. FedEx Express enables global trade. We provide the network that links the point of supply with the point of demand – and our mission is to connect customers, businesses and communities around the globe as safely and efficiently as possible.

A fast, reliable service The FedEx Express fleet connects the world

Shipping between the UK and the US is a FedEx Express speciality. And no matter what size your shipment or business, every package matters to us. FedEx Express can deliver all kinds of time-sensitive shipments, from urgent medical supplies, last minute gifts and fragile scientific equipment, to bulky freight and dangerous goods.

FedEx is consistently recognized as one of the world’s most admired and respected companies. In 2006, it ranked fourth in Fortune’s list of “World’s Most Admired Companies”. Furthermore, it ranked second in the 2006 list of “America’s Most Admired Companies” and has been among the “100 Best Companies to Work for in America” every year since the list’s inception in 1998.

Tracking your packages to the US has never been simpler

To get your packages to the US, FedEx Express offers a suite of industry-leading automation tools that simplify the process, improve efficiency and reduce stress. FedEx InSight, for example, is a free on-line tool allowing customers to see the content of their inbound and outbound shipments and know, real-time, where their shipments are.

FedEx delivers to more than 16,000 US zip codes by 10.30am the next day

InSight works for our customers even when they’re not logged into their account, by sending reports via e-mail or wireless at critical points in the delivery chain. If your package is held up by customs, InSight may even suggest ways to overcome the delays. Another useful tool is FedEx Global Trade Manager. It simplifies international shipping for our customers, by identifying the documents they need to ship to and from specific countries. It also gives profiles of regulatory information by country, a customs regulations guide, and much more.

We were also the first to give our couriers hand-held tracking devices so they could scan packages and deliver instant information about the packages in our care. The latest version of those tracking devices scans packages 12 to 23 times and makes the resulting tracking information immediately available real-time on our website or it can be made available on wireless devices.
